Agistment (boarding)

There are many reasons why you might need agistment services, but the most common reasons why owners bring their alpacas to us include:

• An unexpected event that interferes with the proper care of the alpacas
• A holiday
• A few months sabbatical or short-term job contract
• A lack of land to keep alpacas or separate uncastrated males
• Starting a herd with one alpaca and adding to it as funds allow

Your alpacas will roam on pastures that are well maintained, with grass all year round and shelters. We can tailor the agistment services to suit your needs and our weekly charge £8 per adult alpaca and £8 per cria at foot, which includes supplemental feeds and hay, basic care and husbandry tasks such as toe-nail trimming, worming, vitamin injections and vaccinations. We can also arrange shearing. However vets costs will be at your expense and we do ask for a health certificate and proof of insurance on all registered alpacas that stay with us.

You are quite welcome to visit your alpacas during their stay, although please ring beforehand so we know when you're coming and can brief you on our 'farm rules' for Health and Safety.
